auctionWORKS was formed in 1998 by David Scholes to provide real estate auction services to residential and commercial agents across NSW. The company was founded on a commitment of returning the auction system to the way it was and the way it should have remained.

The auction system has evolved over hundreds of years and in Australia particularly, has been the primary method of sale for a huge and diversified range of products. There is no more precise method of valuation than a well conducted and advertised auction campaign. Many organisations adopt other forms of sale but all rely upon recent auction results to formulate their asking price. Unrestricted and open competition set the benchmarks on which all comparisons are formulated.

Many real estate practitioners have seen the benefits of auction but few have the necessary understanding of the system to capitalise on the advantages. Many of the auctioneers available in Sydney are self-taught. They have not spent years honing their skills at the mercy of professional buyers, fighting for every cent to benefit their vendors. Most believe auctioneering is the art of donning a silk tie and woollen suit and swaggering in front of a crowd.

Auctioneering is far more than describing a property. auctionWORKS first client was the National Australia Bank which, through Burgess Rawson Real Estate, offered by auction several of their branches on a sale and lease back basis. The success of that sale created an enormous amount of interest in auctionWORKS from many commercial agencies and the company has quickly grown to be the largest provider of auction services to independent agents in Sydney today. We now boast the highest profile agents in Sydney as clients and the highest clearance rates on record. We also hold regular investment property portfolio auctions in The Crown Casino in Melbourne. Because of the regard with which we are held, the vast majority of institutions rely upon us to maximise their sales returns and most astute property owners request our services when selling property.

auctionWORKS employs the highest calibre auctioneers available and provides ongoing support and training to them. We are both on-site and in-rooms specialists so can offer owners flexibility. Our premier auction venue at Ground Floor, 55 Harrington Street, Sydney (The Rocks) is utilized every Tuesday. It provides an exciting and vibrant arena at which an amazing range of property is offered. It is conveniently located and has ample parking either in the building or in adjoining streets.
